چکیده

The purpose of this research is to enhance the methods used in biomechanical rehabilitation by combining virtual reality, artificial intelligence, motion capture and biofeedback instrumentation. During training, the subject wears 3D glasses, in which virtual tasks (i.e. trajectories) are displayed to him. The subject is then asked to follow the virtual task displayed to him and match his own movement to it. During task performance, the subject's kinematics and electromyograms (E.M.G.) signals are tracked and recorded by Vicon motion tracking system. We use an intelligent learning system to model on-line the performance of the subject. Once trained, the system changes and adapts the task displayed to the subject, producing a patient-specific task for better neuromuscular rehabilitation. Moreover, the system creates a more entertaining environment which increases the efficiency of physiotherapy, in adults and especially in pediatric. Besides physiotherapy, this system can be used in other applications, such as performance enhancement in sports training and as an educational tool in any application requiring precise and controlled movement and coordination. Keywords— Rehabilitation, virtual reality, artificial intelligence, biofeedback, electromyogram.

This paper presents an articulatory biofeedback system and discusses new research methods made possible by this technology. The real-time electromagnetic articulography biofeedback system (RTEMA) enables speakers to observe a visual representation of the movements of their speech articulators while they are speaking. Investigators can dynamically control the visual display of virtual targets or...

A virtual reality system combined with biofeedback for treating pediatric chronic headache--a pilot study.

OBJECTIVE Pediatric headache is highly widespread and is associated with distress and reduced quality of life. Pharmacological treatment of chronic headache in children has been only partially effective and, as in medication-overuse headache, can sometimes be counterproductive. Therefore, there is a substantial need to develop other effective methods of treatment. Here we present the rationale,...

Coordinated Control of Doubley Fed Induction Generator Virtual Inertia and Power System Oscillation Damping Using Fuzzy Logic

Doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) based wind turbines with traditional maximum power point tracking (MPPT) control provide no inertia response under system frequency events. Recently, the DFIG wind turbines have been equipped with virtual inertia controller (VIC) for supporting power system frequency stability. However, the conventional VICs with fixed gain have negative effects on inter-ar...

Helicopter Adaptive Control with Parameter Estimation Based on Feedback Linearization

This paper presents an adaptive feedback linearization approach to derive helicopter. Ideal feedback linearization is defined for the cases when the system model is known. Adaptive feedback linearization is employed to get asymptotically exact cancellation for the inherent uncertainty in the knowledge of the given parameters of system. The control algorithm is implemented using the feedback lin...
